Avalanche Attain Objective

Sabres are perfect penalty killers

Sabres 1 – Avalanche 3 Buffalo killed off four Colorado penalties to remain at 100% efficiency this season at thwarting opponents power plays.

Sabres (C) Thompson scored his first of the season with teammates (RW) Tuch and (D) Dahlin earning their first assists contributing to the offense.

(C) Thompson scores from just three feet inside the blue line

Additionally, (G) Lyon once again played over .900% save percentage which he has consistently provided over the first three games of the season affording Buffalo the opportunity to win.

The Ottawa Senators arrive in Buffalo tomorrow as the Sabres host their division rivals for Buffalo’s fourth game of the season in an effort to strike the Senators down for the Sabres initial October victory.

    1. I believe Buffalo shares the PK record so far with about four other teams.

I am pleased to see (C) Thompson and (RW) Tuch earning points, the only Sabres player on my ESPN FHL team is (D) Dahlin.

Additionally, I see you are starting your weekly matchup strongly, and have the second highest point total so far.

      1. Thank you.

And thank you, I’ve learned that League standings can change on a dime.

Currently I’m first in points in the roto league (shocking considering not long ago I was on the very bottom) and I am about 8 pts behind my opponent in the H2H league this week.

I find some hockey players seem to be taking their time getting their bearings.

In all honesty I prefer playing in the latter type of league (H2H) and am grateful that you encouraged me.

Fyi in case you have him, I just learned from Paper Dude that Brady Tkachuk is out 6 to 8 weeks (thumb injury).

      2. The first weekly matchup was a short week with unique NHL scheduling causing problems for team managers, congrats on both your teams, and am glad to read you are enjoying the H2H ESPN FHL.

I agree, some players need a game or two it seems to get started, lol.

I did not draft (LW) Brady Tkachuk, fortunately.
