Preamble

Buffalo Winter

Hockey Fanaticus

As a boy in the 1960s, I had two types of heroes astronauts and hockey players. In 1969 I was introduced to Hockey with the program and guidebook of the Buffalo Bisons and became an avid fan. The Bisons won the Calder Cup and the following season my city was awarded an NHL franchise and I was hooked for life.

Buffalo went to the Stanley Cup Finals in 1975 and I was emotionally crushed by that loss to the “broad street bullies”, and it took until this century to get over it.

Buffalo was pulverized by the “Blizzard of 77” which was one of the most enjoyable winters I have experienced, and to this day I would rather shovel snow than mow the lawn.

I am in my element during winter and appreciate hockey with a passion that drives me to write and create images and pay homage to the world’s best sport and culture with historical articles, trivia games, and fantasy hockey, with regular season and playoff updates.
