Edmonton Erases Dallas

Oilers Stun Stars

Oilers 6 – Stars 3 (en) (SC SF 4-1) Edmonton wasted no time taking control of game five as they scored three goals in the first eight minutes of the game with the third goal scored by former Sabres sniper Center Jeff Skinner (1G 1A) in just his second playoff game, hopefully HC Knoblauch can keep his skilled veteran in their lineup.

Goaltending is the issue with Dallas as they pulled their number one netminder after he let in two goals on Edmonton’s first two SOG in the first period, neither goaltender has anything to brag about with both starters have difficulty earning a .900% save percentage or higher unless they post a shutout.

  1. The Dallas HC received backlash for his post game comments about G Jake Oettinger he pulled out of the game.

Wednesday seems like a long way off when the first game is scheduled to be played.

If the Stanley Cup Final between Edmonton and Florida reaches a Game 7 and finishes by June 20th then the draft is very much close on the heels, only a week later (June 27th).

    1. Backlash indeed, both HCs opened their mouths and stuck their foot in it, handshakes or goalies, you would make the supposition that a HC at the NHL level would know better.

For me, waiting on the Stanley Cup Finals to begin is similar to waiting on an approaching holiday.

I did not realize that about the draft, thank you for reminding me of the date, I was so disappointed in how the NHL hyped up the draft lottery selections that I must have filed the NHL Entry Draft itself in the bottom drawer of the filing cabinet that sits somewhere in the back of my mind.
