Stars Shine Bright in Texas

Dallas defeats invading Edmonton

Stars 6 – Edmonton 3 (en) (SC SF 1-0 Dallas) An unbelievable third period as the Stars rip the Oilers for five goals in the period beginning with three consecutive power plays.

After the Oilers took the 3-1 lead heading into the third period it appeared the game was in the bag for the visitors, and in less than six minutes to start the period the Stars took the 4-3 lead, eventually scoring twice more in 43 seconds that included the empty netter.

  1. Just goes to show “Don’t count your chickens before they hatch” is true.

I believe that the playoffs will come down to a Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers re-match because that is what the league wants.

Dallas is obviously good but beatable (just like Florida in the second round, which did not have the outcome that should have been as a result of various factors including the Toronto Maple Leafs starting goalie having been purposely injured by a Panther in Game 1. That’s all I will say about that series.
