Panthers & Oilers Overshadow Opponents

Panthers 6 – Maple Leafs 1 (SC QTR Finals 3-2 Florida) The defending Cup champions are controlling the series with a shutout and scoring a half dozen goals in one game creating the opportunity to win the series on their home ice presenting Toronto’s lackluster offense what could be one last opportunity for redemption.

Oilers 1 – Knights 0 (OT) (SC QTR Finals 4-1 Edmonton) Edmonton goaltender Skinner posted back-to-back shutouts to assist the Oilers in dusting off the gilded team with no captain from Nevada, but if Edmonton continues to not score on the power play (0 for 14 on the road) the upcoming series could be more than just challenging.

Stars Shine in Texas

Stars 3 – Jets 1 (SC QTR Finals 3-1 Dallas) The Stars scored a goal during each period with the last tally coming with three seconds remaining on a double-minor power play, overall Dallas went 2 for 4 on the power play for the game.

The Jets are struggling to win one in Texas, struggling to score on the power play, regardless Winnipeg now has to win three in a row to advance which means earning a road victory sandwiched between two home games.

Oilers 3 – Knights 0 (SC QTR Finals 3-1 Edmonton) The Oilers dominated the Knights by outshooting them 15-5 and scoring twice amidst fighting, roughing, slashing, charging, and cross-checking penalties for the 2-0 lead all in the first period, bolstered by LW Kane’s goal in the second period and goaltender Skinner’s shutout, Nevada never stood a chance.

Dallas & Florida Provide Winning Southern Hospitality

Stars 5 – Jets 2 (SC QTR Finals 2-1 Dallas) The game was pretty even after two periods but early in the third period Dallas scored twice in less than a minute for the two-goal lead then scored again with six minutes remaining in the game for the win and the 2-1 series lead.

Panthers 2 – Maple Leafs 0 (SC QTR Finals tied 2-2) A curious win as Florida outshot Toronto 15-4 and scored only once on four power play opportunities during the first period, both goaltenders played an outstanding game, and Toronto’s frustrated offense needs to find a way at home in game five against the Cup champions.
