ESPN FHL Playoffs

Semi-Finals Results

Here along the Lake It literally took until the last day until the winner between Buffalo Winter and Mike’s Magnificent Team was determined and who would advance to the Finals, it is frustrating to watch your stud draft selections go to IR or suddenly not earning massive points in the Semi-Finals similar to the regular season.

As always, no matter how brilliant of a fantasy team manager you are, no matter how many elite NHL players you have on your roster, there is absolutely nothing you can do if the players themselves do not produce in the actual NHL games.

I have found that winning the league’s regular season title does not guarantee playoff success, similar to the NHL, in a FHL the playoffs become a new season which has to be managed with time and effort every single day, no exceptions, no missed players on the bench with reckless roster management, careful utilization of your watch list and waiver wire, and which of your players are to be played if there is an abundance in positions to select from.

Oversites and mistakes can be overcome during the regular season, but the playoffs are not forgiving to a manager who “skips” or “forgets” early start times of NHL games, if your desire is to become the best, then you have to put in more than just a few casual minutes a day.

The ESPN FHL is an enjoyable way to watch and follow along with the NHL, but in life things happen and a “fantasy anything” is just not that important when dealing with reality, it is my hope that team managers across every FHL be it ESPN or just between family and friends have a good time, and endeavor to remember we do this for fun.
