Sabres drown nemesis

Sabres 3 – Kraken 2 (SO) Buffalo had recently gone 0-1-2 and were down 2-0 to Seattle last night more than halfway through the second period but the Sabres are for real and they proved it again last night overcoming a team they have not beaten at home since Seattle reemerged with a new franchise to play in the NHL.

Buffalo won most of the faceoffs, killed four power plays, scored on the power play, outshot the Kraken and took the only SOG during OT, Sabres (G) Luukkonen was spectacular when he needed to be (.941%), and Captain (D) Dahlin scored his 100th goal, (C) Krebs tied the game and his personal high in regular season goals, as (C) Thompson and (RW) Quinn were the only goal scorers in the shootout in one of the more exciting home games this season.

Buffalo closes out the month of March and their four-game homestand Tuesday night the 31st at 7 pm EST versus the New York Islanders.
